How rankings work

Last updated: May 9, 2026

This page explains the main parameters that determine the order in which providers and reviews appear in the FixMyAge public directory at fixmyage.com/providers, and the relative importance of those parameters. It is published in line with Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 on promoting fairness and transparency for business users of online intermediation services (the “P2B Regulation”), and to give consumers a clear picture of how reviews surface across the directory.

1. Provider listings on category and search pages

When you browse a category page (for example, Longevity clinics or Epigenetic test labs) or run a search, providers are ordered by the following parameters, in roughly decreasing order of importance:

  • Match relevance — for searches, how closely the provider’s name, description, and category match the query.
  • Number of published reviews — providers with more reviews tend to surface higher, because the directory’s usefulness depends on density of opinion.
  • Average rating — weighted toward providers whose reviews are above the category average, with smoothing so that a provider with one five-star review does not jump ahead of a provider with twenty four-star reviews.
  • Share of data-backed reviews — reviews linked to a bloodwork panel uploaded by the reviewer carry more weight than purely textual reviews, because the data tie is harder to fake.
  • Recency of activity — providers with recent reviews are weighted slightly higher than providers whose reviews are all older than 12 months.
  • Verified-claim status — whether a provider has verified their listing and engaged with reviewers contributes a small positive signal, on the basis that engaged providers tend to keep their factual details current.
  • Geographic relevance — on geo pages, listings physically located in or near the named region rank above listings elsewhere.

2. Reviews within a provider page

On an individual provider page, reviews are ordered as follows:

  • Data-backed reviews are pinned above purely textual reviews in the default sort, then ordered by helpfulness and recency among themselves.
  • Among non-pinned reviews, the default sort favours reviews that other readers have voted helpful, with a recency component so that brand-new reviews are not buried.
  • Provider responses are displayed inline with the review they reply to and do not affect that review’s position.
  • Readers can switch the sort to most recent or most helpful at any time.

3. What does not affect ranking

  • Payment. No provider can pay FixMyAge for a higher organic position in the directory or in any search result.
  • Membership status. Whether a reviewer is on the Free or Pro plan does not affect the visibility or weight of their review.
  • Whether a review is positive or negative. We do not demote, delay, filter, or hide negative reviews on grounds other than violation of our Acceptable Use Policy. The Statement of Reasons system described in our Terms applies to every removal.
  • The provider’s response activity. Whether a claimed provider replies frequently to reviews has no direct effect on the rank of that provider in the directory.

4. Sponsored placement

We do not currently sell sponsored placements in the directory. If we introduce paid placements in future, they will be clearly and conspicuously labelled as such (for example, with an “Ad” or “Sponsored” indicator), separated visually from organic listings, and disclosed on this page. Organic ranking will continue to follow the parameters described above and will not be purchasable.

5. Anti-abuse adjustments

We may downweight or temporarily hide reviews that we determine in good faith to be fake, incentivised, the product of coordinated activity by the provider or a competitor, or otherwise non-compliant with our Acceptable Use Policy. Where we do so, the affected reviewer receives a Statement of Reasons and may submit an internal complaint under our moderation appeal process.

6. Changes to ranking

We may update these parameters and their relative weights from time to time as the directory grows. Material changes are reflected on this page and dated above. Where a change materially affects the visibility of claimed listings, we will additionally notify verified providers in line with the notice rules in Section 11 of our Terms.

7. Questions
